The sock yarn is a slightly heavier weight than normal sock yarn, and it has a wonderful pearled look and soft, squishy feel. I reeeeaaaallly want to keep it, but it has to go to a new home. Same with the Pink Sunrise merino top. Sigh. It's not as if I don't have a bunch of sock yarn and roving already. But it's hard to part with what you've made all by your little self!
Now that the worst is over of getting the shop going, it should be easier every time I have to update. So the next thing on the agenda is more dyeing!! And to celebrate the grand opening, I'm giving away a 24-inch size 3 (3.25) Addi lace circular needle. I love the cable and the tips on this needle, but they're plated with something that makes my teeth itch when I hear them rub against each other. It's the fingernails-on-chalkboard effect.
So leave a comment with a suggestion of a color or fiber you'd like to see in the shop, and I'll pick a random number for that commenter to get the needle. I'll keep this open until midnight Eastern time on

ReplyDeleteI'm allergic to wool so would pass these along to my good friend but if i could offer a color suggestion it would be a good navy blue -- for some reason there's not a lot of navy out there in yarns AND I would ask for some wool free yarn but realize that might not be possible.

ReplyDeleteI followed the link on Ravelry to your blog. Is there a bad color for yarn? Other than neon, I mean. I like yarns with neighboring colors or shades of the same color rather than contrasting colors. My suggestion is a deep blue that mutates into purplish tones and greenish tones, but never quite stops being blue.

Think of all the colors and combinations you get to play with! To add to the great suggestions above I'll continue with the idea of dark blues and charcoal grays with flashes of forest green and deep red brown.
